Fact File
About the course
The exponential growth in the power of silicon technologies has been the driving force behind the recent revolution in communications, broadcasting, positioning and internet technologies. As these sectors continue to expand there is a trend in the industry towards convergence-the coming together of technologies for example, mobile phones incorporating GPS, TV, internet and security functions.
Design of such sophisticated products requires an understanding of electronics hardware together with knowledge of how to integrate systems in software and create an intuitive user interface. This unique interdisciplinary course covers foundations of electronic engineering, from communications systems, integrated circuit design and microcontrollers through to information analysis, database design, software engineering user interface development, networking and internet technologies.
