Course details

The course deals with the commissioning and start up of process plants both large and small. It covers many different aspects including the planning and managerial aspects of major plants, the start up of small plants with an emphasis on the technical problems and also dealing with the documentation associated with commissioning.

Typically we find that those attending will be about to embark on their first significant commissioning role and have come to learn from the wide experiences of the course lecturers, all of whom have been associated with start ups themselves. There will be substantial emphasis on tutorial exercises in both commissioning and pre-commissioning.

Course manual
A comprehensive course manual, which has been highly acclaimed by those attending previous courses, will be given to all participants at registration.

Who should attend

This course is suitable for young graduate process engineers about to take on their first major commissioning responsibility and process engineers who want to strengthen their knowledge in commissioning in order to commission a new plant. 

Accreditation

This course is an IChemE approved short course. A certificate from the IChemE will be distributed to all delegates who attend shortly after the course.

Venue

The course will take place at the Weetwood Hall Hotel and Conference Centre, which is situated to the north of Leeds at the junction of the A660 Leeds - Skipton road and the A6120 Outer Ring Road.

Special arrangements have been made with the hotel for bed and full English breakfast accommodation if required. The rooms are all en suite and there is ample car parking. Residents have free access to the David Lloyd Leisure Centre which is a short drive away.
