MSc Artificial Intelligence
This course is rooted in our internationally renowned research activity in Artificial Intelligence and taught by top researchers in their fields. It provides an unusually broad exploration of Artificial Intelligence (AI), covering both traditional AI techniques and state of the art methods for machine learning, bio-computation, and knowledge discovery. The course is designed to prepare students for careers using advanced IT and data analysis skills, or for further research.
The course consists of two parts: a taught component (September to May) during which you attend lectures, tutorials and practical sessions and a research project (May to August) which provides you with the opportunity to apply the knowledge you have gained and pursue your own research interests.

Typical careers
Applications of the course are wide-ranging: from commercial applications such as predicting market behaviours to developing computer games. Recent graduates from the School of Computing can be found in organisations such as Accenture, Logica, GE Consumer Finance, William Hill Plc, HBOS, ARM, Pierbridge CRM, LHASA, BTexact Technologies and Defence Science & Technology Laboratory UK amongst many others. Some students also continue their career within academia by pursuing a PhD, many choosing to stay at Leeds.

| Entry requirements | A degree equivalent to a UK upper second class honours (2.1) degree or higher in computing or a related discipline with a significant computing component. You are expected to have programming competence, some prior systems development experience and knowledge of data structures and algorithms. Relevant work experience will also be taken into consideration. |
| English language requirements | A pass at GCSE level in English Language (grade C or above). International students must have an English language qualification at a suitable level, for example IELTS 6.5 or equivalent. |
