Academic Background

Professor William Gale joined the University of Leeds (UoL) in 2008 and is currently the Director of the UoL Energy Research Institute (ERI) and the Centre for Integrated Energy Research (CIER). From 2004 to 2008 he was the Executive Director of the US Federal Aviation Administration funded Air Transportation Centre of Excellence for Airliner Cabin Environment Research (ACER)/National Centre of Excellence for Research in the Intermodal Transport Environment (RITE). Gale holds a B.Eng. from UoL and a Ph.D. from the University of Cambridge. Gale is the author of over 150 open literature publications, a Fellow of IoM3 and a chartered engineer.
