PaCE in the News!

Cleansing toxic waste - with vinegar
Doug Stewart is leading a team that is using vinegar to stimulate bacrerial growth and clean harmful chromium compounds in land and contaminated groundwater.
UV light shown to be effective against airborne spread of TB.
The University's press release highlights the engineering aspects that  were looked at by the PaCE at Leeds.

Welcome to the PaCE website. The scope of the PaCE is focused on the School of Civil Engineering and undertakes research in  all aspects of the built environment in which the presence of pathogens influences design. From water treatment, solid waste to airborne transmission of disease all present problems tackled by members of the PaCE. The team includes academics from a broad range of engineering disciplines as well as bio-chemists and microbiologists.
