When I first started looking round for university courses I was fairly unsure of what I wanted to study, initially I looked around physics and chemistry courses and whilst they were fairly appealing to me I wasn't interested enough to spend several years of my life studying them.
I continued searching for courses and I started to settle on the idea of engineering, eventually I decided to study Mechatronics as the variety of both mechanical and electronic engineering compelling. When deciding which university I wanted to study at I knew I wanted to spend time in a city and was particularly seriously in Bristol, Leeds and Sheffield, ultimately I settled on Leeds as the course here seemed to have best content. I can't say I'm sure of my plans after graduation but more likely than not it will revolve around engineering.
During my first term life was pretty hectic and so I didn't really get involved in many activities other than occasionally making it down to the gym to stay fit, though this term I have taken up Aikido and occasionally going climbing with my course mates. Any students interested in engineering should seriously consider Mechatronics the variety of study keeps it fresh and continually engaging and I could thoroughly recommend it.
