MEng, BEng Aeronautical and Aerospace Engineering

MEng, BEng Aeronautical and Aerospace Engineering

Overview

Our Aeronautical and Aerospace Engineering degree course is very popular and this has to do with it being one of the most technologically advanced engineering areas of study.

This programme has been designed to produce engineers prepared for a highly rewarding career in the aerospace industry. It combines a solid foundation in fundamental engineering skills with specialist aerospace engineering expertise.

Areas of study include aerospace structures, aerodynamics, propulsion, aircraft systems and aircraft stability and control. You will learn how to integrate mathematics, physics, materials and computer science together with a strong design philosophy to allow you to design, analyse, manufacture and operate aircraft and aerospace vehicles. Due to the complex nature of aircraft and aerospace design, manufacture, control, aerodynamics and structural analysis, the course has a strong mathematical foundation.

Our course is kept up to date with industry developments and requirements by a very active Industrial Advisory Board. This has led to a high level of demand for our graduates from industry, especially from the aerospace industry.

We are ranked 8th in the UK by the Complete University Guide for Aeronautical and Manufacturing Engineering and number 1 for student satisfaction. We also rank highly in the other main league tables.
