Scholarships and funding for International students

Leeds Anniversary Research Scholarships (LARS)
10 fully funded PhD scholarships are available in the Faculty of Engineering. These scholarships are open to all students and will cover academic fees as well as a maintenance grant matching the Research Council UK rate (£14,057 for session 2015/16).

First round deadline: Friday 15 January 2016
Second round deadline: there will be a second round of funding in April 2016 when another 5 scholarships will become available. More details coming soon...

Alumni Bursary
If you are a former student of the University of Leeds you may be eligible for a 10% alumni tuition fee bursary.

Partner Universities Bursaries
This is a bursary for any staff or students from the following universities studying for a postgraduate research degree within the Faculty of Engineering at Leeds: COMSATS, Mehran, National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) and UET Lahore. Students have to be at the above named university in the year prior to commencing their studies at Leeds.

This is an automatic bursary but you have to inform us and provide evidence that you are a student/staff member of one of the named universities. You will receive 20% off fees paid by the individual for each year of the course. If no fees paid then no bursary is awarded.

China Scholarship Council - University of Leeds
Around 15 China Scholarship Council - University of Leeds Scholarships will be available for high-quality students who are citizens or permanent residents of the People's Republic of China. Danang University of Technology
If you are studying at the Danang University of Technology in Vietnam and wish to undertake a PhD within the Schools of Computing, Mechanical Engineering and Electronic and Electrical Engineering please contact our graduate office as we have an agreement with this university.

The University of Leeds has a formal cooperation agreement with the Mexican Consejo Nacional de Ciencia y Tecnologia (CONACYT) which provides reduced tuition fees to CONACYT sponsored students.
