Engineering students from the University of Leeds built their own single-seat race car to compete in Formula Student 2012, which was held at Silverstone from 12-15 July.
Run by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Formula Student challenges university students from all over the world to design, build and race a single-seat racing car in the competition across many events.
Leeds University car entry No. 28
Design - 60th.
Business ( Marketing presentation)- 57th.
Cost - 15th.
Acceleration - 45th.
Skid Pan - 31st.
Sprint - 29th.
Endurance - DNF, however posted the 43rd quickest lap time. Broken steering system with 2 laps to complete. Only 25 cars actually finished endurance this year.
Overall place 45th out of 103 cars.
Overall 17th out of 38 UK cars.
