Why did you decide to study your course?
I initially chose to study Mechatronics and Robotics because of the appealing picture that was presented alongside the course description, which happened to display some very interesting equipment that I looked forward to use.
Why did you choose to study this course at Leeds?
The reason I chose to study this particular course at the University of Leeds was for two reasons. Firstly, Leeds University made the course more appealing than any other university, and also because Leeds University has a very good reputation, so the degree would be of a high quality, i.e. concerning teaching and equipment.
What was the best aspect of the course and studying at the University so far and why?
The best aspect of studying at the University is the friendly atmosphere you become instantly a part of. The ability to seek help from almost anybody played a vital part in the confidence of my studies.
What do you think you have gained from the 4th MEng year?
By doing the Masters year of my degree, I feel that I have gained a number of different things. Firstly I have gained an easier entrance into a job that most other bachelor degree entries would. Also, the experience of working as part of a team for project work, which will provide extremely important throughout my future career.
What are your plans after graduation?
When I graduate, I plan to enter into a graduate scheme immediately. As I believe ‘year-out’ and holidays leave doubt with future employees and more chance for future graduates. Following a graduate scheme, a pathway into chartership is desired.
What other activities outside your studies do you get involved with here in Leeds?
Outside my studies, I take part in a number of activities. Including the departmental society where I organise sporting events, and another departmental rugby team of which I compete regularly with other departments.
