The School of Civil Engineering is offering a number of scholarships to attract the very brightest students from around the world as we value their intellectual contribution both to our MSc courses and the overall academic atmosphere of the School.

First Class Scholarship

Who is eligible? Any UK/EU applicant who has been offered a place on any of the postgraduate masters courses within the School of Civil Engineering.
How are they awarded? This is an automatic scholarship awarded on condition of you achieving the equivalent of a UK first class degree.
How much are they worth? £1,000

Conditions apply Applicants must be self-funding, classified as UK/EU for tuition fee purposes and not be in receipt of any other University of Leeds award.

Head of School Scholarship (Civil Engineering)

Who is eligible? Any UK/EU applicant who has been offered a place on any of the postgraduate masters courses within the School of Civil Engineering.
How are they awarded? To be selected for this award, students must demonstrate exceptional academic achievement and industrial experience on the application form.
How much are they worth? £2,000
How many are available? 10

The Ray and Naomi Simpson Scholarship

Who is eligible? The School of Civil Engineering offers the Ray and Naomi Simpson Scholarship to the best British applicant. If there are no British applicants then the scholarship may be awarded to the best applicant from a British Commonwealth country.
How much are they worth? The Scholarship is worth £3,000 towards fees and £1,000 towards maintenance.

The Water Conservation Trust in conjunction with WAMITAB and ESAET Bursary (2014 entry)

Who is eligible? MSc Environmental Engineering and Project Management applicants who have been a resident in the UK for at least 5 years (proof of residency is required).
How is it awarded? Academic Excellence
How much is it worth This Bursary is worth £4,000 towards student tuition fees.
How many are available? 1

Conditions apply The recipient of this Bursary must be prepared to make presentations to industry or professional bodies based on their MSc dissertation.

Alumni Bursary

This is a bursary for any former student of the University of Leeds studying for a postgraduate qualification in the School of Civil Engineering Excluding courses that are run in conjunction with other universities. This bursary is open to students who are commencing their studies from September 2013 onwards, the bursary can not be awarded retrospectively. To find out more about the Alumni Bursary, please visit the University's website.
Who is eligible? This is an automatic bursary but you have to inform us and provide evidence that you are a former student of the University of Leeds.
How much is it worth? The University will pay 10% of your fees for each year of the course. If no fees paid then no bursary is awarded.
Application deadline None – automatic. If you think you are eligible you need to contact the relevant admissions team for the course you have applied for.
Conditions apply To receive this bursary you must not be in receipt of any other Faculty of Engineering award or scholarship.

Postgraduate financial support package
The University of Leeds is offering a £10,000 cash support package to 60 students (UK student paying academic fees at the UK/ EU rate only) who choose to study for a taught postgraduate qualification starting in September 2014. Conditions apply.

International

COLFUTURO - Scholarship Loan Scheme

Who is eligible? Students in Colombia interested in this Joint Graduate Loan-Scholarship Programme.
How are they awarded? Students who hold an academic offer as full-time taught postgraduate with the School of Civil Engineering at the University of Leeds and who are selected as beneficiaries of the Loan-Scholarship Programme of COLFUTURO.
How much are they worth? 20% tuition fee scholarship to all eligible students plus one 50% tuition fee scholarship for the MSc in Water, Sanitation and Health Engineering.
